Anxiety and Depression
Depression and anxiety can affect anyone, but when your child is experiencing excessive amounts of anxiety or sadness it can put a strain on the whole family.
Anxiety is in essence useful when in moderation. However, when it becomes an overwhelming mountain of emotions such as extreme fear, anger, sadness, guilt, etc., it can be a real cause for concern.
Depression is not always best understood and your child may not be very forthcoming in expressing their emotions.
If you have concerns that a young person you care about is experiencing anxiety or depression contact your GP for further advice.
