Eating Disorders

No one can prepare you for the anxiety and emotional turmoil of caring for, or living with, someone with an eating disorder. The feelings of blame, guilt, helplessness to do something, together with a lack of knowledge and understanding can be overwhelmingly difficult to come to terms with.

To learn that there is no ‘quick fix’ can be hard, leading to a sense of burden, isolation and a fear of the future. There will be many questions, such as how did we get here, why has it happened and what do we do now?

It is absolutely vital that you obtain the right guidance and support, not only for the sufferer, but for you too.

If you have concerns that a young person has an eating disorder seek medical advice immediately. Contact your GP for help and advice.
