Gaming is a relatively new phenomenon where the young person spends excessive amounts of time playing computer games/video games. This worries many parents and carers, particularly when the content may not be age appropriate (violent/sexual). Excessive use of the computer may lead to isolation and a distraction from other aspects of life such as school, friends, etc., and may take people from the real world into a fantasy world.

If you have concerns that a young person is spending too much time on the computer, try and encourage them to have other hobbies or limit the time they are allowed to spend on the computer. Further help and advice can be found using the related links below.
