Young People's Eating Disorder Service
We are a service providing help for children and young perople with eating disorders, as well as support for their parents and carers. We are a community based service, which means we undertake visits in the home or at various clinics within Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset.
Our service is founded on the principles of early intervention and flexible community treatment in order to enhance and promote recovery.
Our team consists of:
- Service manager
- Consultant psychiatrist
- Eating Disorder Practitioner
- Family Therapist
- 3 Community Mental Health Nurses
- 4 Mental Health Support Workers
- Team secretary
Young people referred to our service can expect:
- A wide range of help and care
- Regular assessments
- Appointments with a care co-ordinator to developa care plan and help put it into action
- Individual and family therapy
- Meal time and post meal time support
- Carers support (including monthly support group)
- Help with practical and creative activities, such as food shopping and cooking.
